KEY TERMS
To most effectively use this help, there are some key terms that you might not already be familiar with.
| FIELD | This refers to any white area that text can be entered into. |
| QUERY | A specially worded command given to the search program, telling it what to find. |
| SERVER | A centrally located computer which 'serves' files to other computers through a network. |
| DROPDOWN | These are
menus that, when clicked, 'drop down' to reveal a list from which you can make a
selection. In PCRecruiter, buttons marked with three dots |
| DOUBLE-CLICK | Rapidly tapping the mouse button twice in a row. |
| RIGHT-CLICK | This refers to clicking on the specified area with the alternate mouse button (usually the right side button) |
| SELECT | This involves simply clicking the mouse pointer on an item, or holding down the button while dragging the arrow across the screen. The selected item will usually change color or otherwise signify that it has been selected. |
| COPY & PASTE | Once text has been selected, you may use the Copy & Paste selections in the Edit Menu to duplicate text/images in another area. The copied material is held in the "Windows Clipboard" - a temporary memory area that will hold your copied data until something new is copied over it. The Windows Clipboard is the power behind PCRecruiter's easy resume entry! |
