You can leave them for yourself, or for other users on the network. If you have
PCRecruiter open, an orange cone marker (

of the Windows menu bar) to indicate that you have a message. Be sure to click
"Save", otherwise the message won't 'stick.'

Chat rooms require all the chatting users to specify the same .dat file. Think of this as choosing which room to chat in. Select your .dat file from the PCRecruiter folder on your server. The standard .dat files you will find in your PCRecruiter folder are Ron.dat, Html.dat, and Chat.dat. Chat.dat is the most commonly used of the three.
Click here to leave the chat room.
Use this button to empty all text from the chat log window.
Click this button if you would like to 'boot' someone from the chat room. You will be asked to select a user from a list.

This button is used to clear all previous 'boots' and lets all users into the chat room.
After typing your desired text into the text entry area, click this button to send the text to the other chatters.

Choosing a time for the activity is as simple as using a clock. Click the hour you want on the actual clock face, and use the up/down arrows to set the minutes. If your activity is going to be on the schedule, you can also fill in the alarm checkbox to remind you of the activity.
You can set an alarm for any activity to remind you to complete it. The alarm is only available if you place the activity on the schedule, and will only go off if PCRecruiter is running at the time it is set for. The alarm will bring PCRecruiter to the front in Windows, with a box explaining the alarm, from which you can 'snooze' it to go off later, close it, or jump to the appropriate record. Use the options menu in the Schedule Viewer to set the delay for the alarm.
Filling in this check box will place the activity on the schedule. This is useful for separating activities that need to be completed in the future from records of completed activities.
If the person you are associating this activity with is the contact for a particular company, or if the activity applies for some other reason to both the individual and their business, you can use this check box to copy the activity to the company's record.
Choosing the date for an activity is as easy as clicking the date on a calendar. The PCRecruiter calendar ranges from the year 100 to the year 9999 (we expect to have a compatible update long before a "Year 10,000 Bug" becomes a concern) In the scheduler, days with an task scheduled on them will show up in lime green. Once all tasks for that day have been marked as completed using the Action Menu, the box will return to gray. Click the box displaying the current date to return the calendar to today.
This drop-down menu will allow you to classify this activity in many ways. You can set your activity classifications on the System tab. You may also specify activities within the text of the activity using the Activity Menu.
This time-saving menu contains fourteen common shortcut phrases to be placed in the text of your activity. Selections include "Call back in 1 week...", "Sent resume" and "Offer received."

This thermometer-type view shows the tasks of the entire day, from 12 am to 12 am, with colored blocks to signify tasks. Clicking on an area in this window will move the Schedule View window to the appropriate time.
This window allows you to view the tasks of
the day in a chronological listing. Each task will be randomly color coded by the
program for ease in viewing*, and tasks using certain keywords (meeting, lunch, call,
etc.) will be marked with an appropriate icon. All other tasks will be marked with a
clock icon. Select a row to edit by clicking on the time button next to it (See also
Editing Tasks). Right-click on a task to bring up the Action Menu.
(*Repeatedly clicking on the currently selected date in the Calendar
Selector will cycle all that day's events through the available the color codes.)
To schedule a task for a time slot, single-click on the button marked with the time you wish to edit, or double-click on the gray area next to the time you wish to edit. The row will turn white, with a thin gray bar above and below. Type in your desired text. Grab and drag the upper bar to move the task up or down the timeline. Grab and drag the lower bar to stretch the task out, making it last longer. Click the task once (turn it blue) and hit 'Delete' on your computer keyboard to remove it from the schedule.

This feature allows you to create a special schedule just for tasks dealing with a particular name in your database. Use the three-dotted button to find the desired user. If you wish to type a name directly into the box, you must follow the form of "Last Name, First Name".

This menu selection will add holidays to the calendar, which by default are not included. Once it has been done, there is no need to re-do it for that database. Furthermore, undoing this action is difficult (it's not explained in this help documentation), so be sure you wish to do it before clicking here.
You can alter the time increments of the schedule. The default is set to half an hour per block, but you may adjust it to as low as 5 minutes, or as high as an hour.
You may want to have alarmed tasks warn you in advance. The standard delay is 5 minutes, but a 5 minute warning may not be enough for something like a lunch meeting that you have to drive to. Enter your delay time here, and it will be applied to all alarmed tasks.
Click these buttons to edit or add a task to the associated time slot.
Use this item to jump to the names/companies screen associated with the selected task. Note that this will only work for tasks added from the Custom Activity Entry screen. Manually added activities will not be associated with a record unless you insert a record or rollup from the Action Menu.

Note that this will only work if you have a TAPI compatible phone system connected to your computer, and only for tasks added from the Custom Activity Entry screen. Manually added activities will not be associated with a record unless you insert a record or rollup from the Action Menu.

Then, when it comes time to complete that task, you may jump directly to the record or rollup you need without leaving the schedule.
Use this menu item to remove a task from the schedule. Also can be done with the "Delete" key on the keyboard.
This date will be automatically entered from the currently selected schedule. You cannot edit this date... you must have the desired starting date selected when you open the Recurring Activity window. Please note that recurring items cannot be deleted as a group... they must be removed from the schedule individually.
