Moving A Database
There may be a need at some point to move your database(s) elsewhere. This can be to a CD, a server, a laptop... anywhere. This is a relatively simple process.
1) Locate the database file (.mdb) you wish to move.
It is important to note that in PCRecruiter, you usually see a database
listed by it's description, which is different than it's actual filename.
The easiest way to find the name of the database file is to go to the System Tab in PCRecruiter, and click on Data Locations. You will see a list of
the currently active databases, along with their filenames and directories.
2) In your Windows Explorer, find the database. If necessary, choose
"Find Files or Folders" from your start menu and search for the .mdb file you
want to move.
3) Drag/Cut and Paste the file to the new location.
4) PCRecruiter has now lost the file, so you must tell it where to find it.
Go to the System
Tab in PCRecruiter.
5) Click on the Data Locations button again.
6) Click on the name of the database you just moved.
7) Select Edit: Edit Database Path
8) Find the .mdb file in its new location and select it.
