Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering the Design Checker will be responsible for checking and verifying that all drawings and engineering documents are in compliance with specific customer requirements, company standards and industry regulations. Must have understanding and working knowledge of Drawing and Drafting standards such as ANSI, MIL Spec, ASME or equivalent. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify that mechanical detail, assembly, installation drawings and layout are in compliance with customer requirements, company standards and industry regulations
  • Check and ensure the accuracy of all drawing views, sections, dimensions, tolerances, part numbers callouts, cross references, notes, bills of material / part lists, layers and maintain configuration management design requirements.
  • Confers with design personnel to resolve design problems
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide leadership to junior or less experienced personnel
  • Ensure quality, consistency and use of good design practices across engineering drawings and documents
  • Perform all work in a satisfactory and timely manner
  • Other duties may be assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school 
  • Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous 3D CAD experience
  • Must have understanding and working knowledge of Drawing and Drafting standards such as ANSI, MIL Spec, ASME or equivalent
  • Drawing review/verify experience in aerospace industry drawings, including and not limited to honeycomb panel designs, sheet metal parts, machined, monuments, plastic injection molding
  • Knowledge in aerospace industry hardware, material specifications and standards
  • PC/Microsoft Office proficiency


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Unigraphics, NX, and Teamcenter
  • Aircraft interiors experience
