Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, developing new business sales and for maintaining and growing existing customer sales in a specified geographical territory; develop and maintain strong technical application, sales, and account management skills, and ensure good overall understanding on all relevant areas of business and customers businesses; establish/maintain an active list of contacts/potential projects; understand and report competitor strengths, weaknesses and activities; build and maintain current a comprehensive prospect list for the assigned territory and market segments of operation; develop long term business relationships as required to meet business goals; develop new business for the use of lime in flue gas desulfurization, steel, environmental and other applicable industries Other job functions include: Highlight all customer support requirements and ensure relevant company resources are brought into play to resolve issues; maintain a minimum active prospect list as agreed with direct sales manager, and measured by potential business volume and numbers of active prospect accounts; maintain active memberships and participation in relevant industry associations and groups; fulfill all required reporting procedures in the SalesLogix and other computer system; and other duties as assigned by management. Required Skills
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor or Science Degree in Business, Engineering or related field; 6+ years of industrial manufacturing material experience; persistent and able to cope with long sales cycle requirements; ability to develop/maintain long-term business relationships also needed along with a polished and professional image; background in business development or sales highly preferred; highly self motivated; persistent, and able to cope with the requirements of account management and sales cycles; able to travel up to 50%; good organizational skills; a professional personal image as well as strong communication and presentation skills. Preference would be given to someone that could communicate from knowledge and experience in relation to the steel industry.
