Job Description


Located 25 kms north of Brampton, ON, 30 minutes north of Pearson International Airport, this client offers an exciting and rewarding career opportunity in an attractive community with access to the city and a reasonable cost of living. The plant is a fast paced, highly automated, state-of-the-art automotive parts manufacturing facility. The company is a tier one automotive parts supplier to Honda, in both Canada and in the U.S., producing components for the Accord, Civic, Ridgeline and Acura models. Utilizing state of the art manufacturing processes to produce these products the company has been stamping, welding, painting and assembling for 20 years. They have over 800 associates working at 3 on site manufacturing facilities.

Position Summary:   Administer the procurement process to attain maximum supply chain efficiencies and minimize costs.



Position Responsibilities:

·         Supplier sourcing, evaluation and development.

·         Negotiate the best price and ensure the best quality.

·         Procurement of indirect goods and services (eg. machine and equipment repairs, consumables, chemicals, software and other indirect supplies).

·         Monitor supplier performance.

·         Research new technologies and developments.

·         Provide departmental support.

·         Initiate Kaizen activities.



·         Post secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.

·         Minimum 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

·         Flexibility with work assignments and hours

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Experience with ERP and inventory controls systems.

·         Ability to travel occasionally when required

·         PMAC designation preferred

·         ISO/TS 16949 experience an asset


Pay Structure:  $50k/yr - $55k/year (some play +/- based on experience)

Participation in company pension plan, which equals a calculation of 5% base pay

Participation in company incentive program, in which, if company goals are met, and personal attendance goals are achieved, a target of 6% base pay can be achieved
