In your role as a Cashier, at Cost-U-Less (CUL), you provide a memorable customer shopping experience by ensuring each customer is greeted promptly and that each sale is processed accurately and efficiently. You must develop and maintain a general familiarity with all products ensuring customer’s needs have been met and the sale complete.

Your Role:

• Provide superior customer service; seek assistance from management when unable to answer customer inquiries on own and assist customers with heavy and/or large purchases or cart;

• Accurately process all customer transactions, record all sales, determine customer’s packing preferences and verify customer receipts with items in the second cart to ensure all items were rung through the register and to control shrink;

• Proper handling of company funds throughout the day, maintain accurate register funds throughout the day, and proper supply of cash register supplies for every shift;

• Perform any task assigned by management or supervisory personnel, taking the initiative when appropriate and participate in monthly and semi-annual financial and physical inventory;

• Standard duties performed during each shift, maintaining the merchandise area around cash register, reporting any unsafe acts and perform assigned housekeeping and janitorial duties;

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Previous cashiering/customer service experience a plus

• Must have basic math and reading skills;

• Intermediate computer skills a plus;

• Strong human relations skills; has a pleasant disposition and is willing to smile and interact positively with others;

• Cooperate with other team members in a busy environment in a professional manner to accomplish the business goals;

• Able to anticipate and accommodate customers concerns and needs;

• Able to communicate in the local language(s)

• Possess a passion to excel and provide excellent customer service;

• Able to work well on your own or with a team;

• Self-motivated to work quickly and efficiently to complete the entire task within time limits;

• Able to provide a clean police record where applicable by local regulations, and provide a current health certificate where applicable by local regulations;

• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
