Job Description


Under general supervision, the Assistant Sales Manager performs a wide range of activities associated with day-to-day operations, support of the sales managers in the field, servicing of current/prospective clients and overall development of Alliant Purchasing programs.  The Assistant Sales Manager serves as a direct link between Alliant Purchasing and existing clients by managing day-to-day affairs, identifying contract opportunities, ensuring customer support & satisfaction and increasing overall sales and revenue. This is a remote position. We will supply all needed equipment.

Education:  High School education and completion of some college level courses or programs in business or related fields required.  College degree in business or a related field preferred.

Experience:  1+ years of successful sales experience preferred



Good verbal and written communication skills required

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to navigate on the Internet required. 



Ability to travel around region with possibility of 1-2 overnights a week.  Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Ability to transition smoothly with change (as healthcare is always changing).

Ability to be pro-active in identifying, addressing and resolving client or program issues.

Presentation of a professional image and friendly attitude with a positive customer service orientation.

Ability to identify problems and propose appropriate solutions to Vice President.

Good phone skills to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with customers, new items, or vendors.  Need to be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects.


- Servicing of clients and development of Alliant Purchasing programs
- Supporting the Sales Managers
- Provide phone/email support and in-field services by periodically making on-site visits to client facilities
- Manage client utilization of contracts to maximize revenue and profitability results
- Develop positive, productive relationships with leaders in healthcare and other industries to generate sales leads; participate in regional, state and national events
- Guide customers through the full implementation process to realize maximum savings and benefits
- Direct and implement strategic sales activities and account planning based on purchase plans and related objectives of prospects and clients
- Maintain competitive knowledge to effectively promote company’s services and actively participate in affiliate opportunities


Must be able to handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.


Over the road traveling required and some air travel including overnight stays.
