Tax Manager – NYC


Our client, a midsized CPA firm offering assurance, advisory and tax services is seeking a Tax Manager specializing in in-house partnerships for their NYC office.


The Tax Manager, under the direction of the Director, Finance and Administration, will work on the firm's tax matters, including preparation of the firm's federal and state filings.


Responsibilities Include:

·     Analyze and ensure accurate and timely filing of Federal consolidated return.

·     Forecast and remit quarterly estimated income tax payment calculations.

  • Manage ongoing IRS audits, supervise IDR submissions to Tax Director and/or Tax Auditors.
  • Analyze book/tax data for all entities in the consolidated return.
  • Interpret and apply IRC sections in order to calculate and/or review book/tax differences.
  • Research and explain tax implications regarding questions from Finance Management.
  • Perform tax planning and tax compliance services including review of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
  • Perform research and document findings for income, employment, and partnership taxes.
  • Perform necessary tax account reconciliations and overall balance sheet account integrity analysis.
  • Prepare domestic cash taxes forecasts and identify planning opportunities for cash taxes.
  • Interact directly with Partners on matters related to Partnership tax matters.
  • Provide exceptional client service.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the “big picture” as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Candidate should possess:  

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience in corporate and partnership tax; public accounting experience is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field; Masters in Taxation or Masters of Accounting are preferred.
  • A CPA license is desired.
  • Be able to travel to local offices (travel is minimal and infrequent).

Successful candidates must be available to work in excess of standard hours when needed.
