A small Biopharmaceutical company in the San Francisco Bay area that develops and commercializes breakthrough treatments for cancer is adding an Associate Director of Marketing to their commercial team. They are gearing up for multiple launches expected next year and their stock price has doubled in the past year. Although it is a relatively small marketing group, this is a dynamic, exciting work environment and their teams have unusually strong personal chemistry. The Opportunity:
The Associate Director will lead the lifecycle planning, promotional strategy and tactical execution of marketing and media plans for in-line brands, and assist in the development of the launch strategy for new product launches. This is a broadly defined assignment that will include personal and non-personal promotion to HCPs in the oncology space. Specific responsibilities will include making recommendations based on market research and analytics, as well as market segmentation, product positioning, branding, messaging and sales force support. You will also lead all of the digital and traditional marketing programs and be responsible for their strategic planning and tactical execution, including sales collateral support, website, SEO / SEM, CRM, email, video, and social media platforms.

As Associate Director, you will partner with and provide direction to agency vendors so experience managing external partners is required. You will also lead cross-functional teams made up of colleagues from market access, medical affairs, market research, regulatory, and sales. The small size of the marketing group means you will “wear many hats” in this assignment, and the pace of work is faster than typically seen in most marketing assignments in large pharmaceutical organizations. The high profile nature of the job provides significant opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
8+ years of overall marketing and sales experience in the Medical Technology or healthcare industry (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Medical Device)
5+ years of HQ based digital and media marketing experience in healthcare
Bachelor’s degree or better; MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred
A strong interest in working for a small, fast-paced company with significant growth upside
