Summary:

The Physical Security Engineer and Program Manager is responsible for researching, engineering, testing, certifying, and managing the physical security technology products used by the company. S/he provides technical support and program oversight for the company’s physical security and building control system technologies including access controls that are deployed around the globe at branch locations, HQ’s, support sites, campus and data centers.

The Physical Security Engineer and Program Manager assists with security certification, compliance and vendor management, incident response, and vulnerability assessments. Responsibilities include performing security research; identifying vulnerabilities, threats, and engineering the necessary safeguards to minimize risks. This is a hands-on position, requiring a mix of information and physical security knowledge and technical understanding of the systems and devices.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the technical product management of one or more physical security products, such as CCTV, Access Controls, Biometrics systems, DVR’s, IP Camera and Video Security Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Fire & Safety systems, and related network applications.

Provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise to staff, internal clients and vendor partners as it relates to large scale, complex electronic surveillance and security systems projects.

Liaison with key stakeholders in both the business and operational support teams to ensure the product life-cycle is properly managed.

Determine and manage the product road map, working closely with relevant vendors to ensure they continue to align their product and services with company requirements.

Research the marketplace for physical security products and services. Select, test and certify best of breed products for use throughout the company.

Develop in-house solutions as well as leveraging existing capability from existing solutions. This involves ensuring that the product conforms to company security standards and audit requirements and is integrated into enterprise management tools.

Provide 3rd level technical support for certified line of physical security products.

Write and publish designs, test results, best practices, and standards for a global disparate audience, which eventually leads to the certification of products.

Primary Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. CISSP or other certifications are desirable.


Minimum of 5 years of experience with physical security engineering products, devices, systems, operations, program or project management, or information security related work

Strong Windows skills with some knowledge of UNIX is preferred.

Good understanding of IT security and information security principles.

Experience with various forms of physical security devices and systems such as CCTV, Access Controls, Biometrics systems, DVR’s, IP Security Cameras, or Intrusion Detection or Fire & Safety systems.

Should be a self-starter with a high level of initiative.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required in English.

Must have high level of integrity due to the sensitive nature of the information security role.

Ability to communicate ideas and technical designs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Must be comfortable in working across geographies due to the global nature of the team.

Strong organizational and project management skills required.

Strong work ethic, good interpersonal and communication skills and a high energy level.

Ability to independently work with vendors in resolving issues and developing solutions.

Able to deliver results independently and without constant supervision.
