A high-growth management consultancy in the BioPharma and Medical Technology industry is expanding and adding an Associate Director to their strategic planning business unit. This highly-profitable, specialty consulting firm has operated for over 20 years in the Life Science industry and has doubled in size in the past two years. The product lines compete only in specialty markets, including large molecule drugs for cancer and immunology, surgical robotic technology, and implantable medical devices. This is an exciting work environment where the consulting teams have unusually strong personal chemistry. The Job:

The Associate Director will build and lead a team in Reimbursement Strategy and Market Access, working with clients that provide medical devices and specialty pharmaceuticals to the hospital market. You will develop reimbursement strategies for individual products, both those already commercialized as well as those in late stage clinical development. Many clients need assistance re-engineering payment policies for their acute care products, and the job will include tactical programming for the establishment of CPT and HCPCS codes. You and your team will also build plans for securing hospital payments from CMS for Medicare patients, so there is a government affairs and healthcare policy element to the assignment. The Associate Director role is a highly visible and challenging position that draws heavily upon all of the analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills essential to effective strategy consulting. This role requires a keen ability to engage clients and lead project teams in effectively delivering projects of the highest quality. In addition, an Associate Director identifies business opportunities for clients as new or follow-on work. Client partnerships typically last 5-7 years. The ability to assume complete ownership of significant projects while at the same time being a part of and leading a close-knit team is critical. The need for on-site client engagement is limited; overnight travel is estimated at 25%.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in the Life Sciences industry with at least 3 years in management or reimbursement consulting
• A combination of strategic planning and tactical execution of reimbursement programs for products used in the hospital market, including experience working with CMS for Medicare payments
• Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as analytical experience in the design of coding, coverage and payment programs
• Bachelor’s degree or better; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
A highly competitive base salary is provided, along with annual and project based bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package. This position will be based in either the San Francisco headquarters location, Chicago, Boston or New York; relocation assistance will be provided to the SF Bay area.
