Our client is a Japanese Co engaged in the automotive suply chain with operations around the globe.  They have started up a new facility in the Barrie area and have close ties to their customer.  Their future is bright and they are gathering steam.  They have created a new position to support their growth and the JD is as follows....



A.     JOB OVERVIEW        

The Maintenance Leader provides direction and leadership to the maintenance team to ensure a safe, responsible and cost effective operation is maintained.  This position is responsible for planning and implementing proactive, predictive and preventative maintenance, modifications, and new installations and repairs on an efficient and timely basis through effective management and utilization of the maintenance department resources.



§  A minimum of five years previous experience as a licensed Millwright or Electrician

§  A minimum of five years previous experience in a maintenance environment as a supervisor.

§  Previous experience managing a Preventive Maintenance program

§  Sound knowledge of general and manufacturing management procedures, and computer systems in a manufacturing environment.

§  Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

§  Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) – Lotus Notes an asset.

§  Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment

§  Previous experience with heavy machinery, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic tools and systems














§  Excellent mathematical, written and verbal communication skills

§  Familiar with PLC controller systems

§  Experience managing capital projects

§  Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills – hands on mechanical aptitude

§  Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high pressure environment

§  Excellent WHMIS and Health & Safety skills

§  Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods

§  Proven managerial, human relations, analytical and communication skills.











§  Ensure that production equipment and machinery is properly maintained.

§  Ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant services in order to consistently achieve cost control, safety and product quality

§  Develop and manage the maintenance budget; report on variances to budget while taking action to ensure solid fiscal management is maintained

§  Develop and implement capital projects (design through to installation)

§  Ensure appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies.

§  Provide direct supervision to maintenance staff to address day to day equipment and process challenges.  Manage work performance and employee relations issues.

§  Engage and oversee various contract services as required

§  Promote a healthy and safe working environment.

§  Demonstrate an active involvement in/commitment to a progressive health and safety program

§  Perform tasks and responsibilities as detailed in Company's policies, procedures and work instructions.

§  Follow the guidelines and rules as set out by the Company Handbook and  policies and procedures

§  Perform other duties as requested by the management team.

§  Overtime may be necessary on occasion.
