Job Description
In your role as a Produce Supervisor, at Cost-U-Less (CUL), you will order, display, replenish, cull, and process all quality and code date in the produce department. In addition, you will maintain the overall environment of the department by assisting clients with product knowledge. CUL opened its first retail warehouse store in 1989, on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Your Role:

•Supervise and cooperate with staff members to ensure produce department is stocked and merchandised to abide by the “Best Perishable Area” on island program;
•Provide exceptional customer experience;
•Ensure the produce area is organized and condensed daily by following proper work methods on food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures;
•Collaborate with the Operations department and store personnel to improve and refine the product mix offered in store to achieve the maximum sales per square foot;
•Ensure that product is properly set, stocked, rotated, and handle damaged and spoiled goods by company policy;
•Deliver customer service and product knowledge training to Team Members by NWC’s policies and procedures;
•Evaluate employees and assist in assist in providing a complete review of their performance;
•Report to direct manager on payroll dollars spent, ensuring that the right amount of staff are used per shift;
•Promptly report all customer incidents to the Manager on Duty; and
•Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience:

•High school diploma is an asset;
•Must have intermediate math and reading skills;
•Prior supervisory experience with focus on produce or perishables is preferred;
•Must be able to identify and resolve problems promptly;
•Strong oral and verbal communication;
•Ability to operate computer systems proficiently, specifically the MS Office Suite;
•Capable of prioritizing and delegating tasks to yourself and subordinates;
•Strong attention to detail and proven experience in teaching and employee performance monitoring;
•Able to pass a record check as per local regulations;
•Able to provide a current health certificate as per local regulations;
•Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test to be eligible for hire and any subsequent drug tests requested by Company Management; and
•Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
