Job Description

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Officer to join our Firm Administration team based in Carmel, Indiana. As the HR Officer, you will serve the entire firm developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and the strategic goals of the organization, specifically in talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, and policies/procedures. 

You will be an integral part of a thriving corporate culture in our dynamic firm. This position offers a great deal of diversity in responsibilities and touches all areas of HR. You are the primary point of contact for firm leaders and employees on all HR-related issues with support from the HR and recruiting team.  

Position Details:

• Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and reporting regulations, ensure all policies, procedures and reporting methods are in compliance. Respond to internal inquiries related to policies, procedures and programs.
• Counsel and advise firm leaders on HR issues, including performance reviews, progressive discipline, promotions, etc. and serve as a resource for employees throughout their careers with Blue & Co., LLC.
• Develop and implement compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the firm. 
• Direct and supervise the benefits specialist in handling day-to-day benefit issues, leaves of absence and the annual open enrollment process. 
• Develop comprehensive, strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the talent needs of the firm’s various operating entities to help achieve strategic goals. Includes direction of the recruitment team as they work to fill open experienced-hire positions and manage the on-campus recruiting program.
• Direct the maintenance and management of the firm’s HRIS; create management reports as needed.  Update, develop and implement HR programs and policies as needed to attract and retain top talent. 
• Maintain current knowledge in HR policies, laws, trends and software. 
• Effectively manage and efficiently utilize HR administrative assistant. 

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 7 to 10 years’ experience in an HR position, preferably in a small to mid-size professional services company.   PHR certification or higher is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of State and Federal labor laws.
• Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills; promote positive attitude toward company goals, policies, leadership and benefits; must build trusting relationships and maintain confidentiality. 
• Strong business perspective and mindset; must be confident and able to strike a harmonious balance and do what’s right for employee and the firm.
• History of success in a high-functioning team atmosphere; demonstrated consensus-building, mediation and leadership skills among all levels in an organization. 
• Proficiency in HRIS.
• Must be willing to travel up to 20% to our various offices in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, mostly daytrips.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
