Job Title TPM/Production Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

Job Description

Our client is a large and complex production facility in a transformative phase in its history as it moves to Continuous Improvement, TPM and company wide culture change. The Maintenance department is large and absolutely KEY to the ongoing success of the overall plant performance effort of this 24/7 operation.  Key responsibilities include:

 

* Abide by all plant Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) policies and actively participate in safety activities
* Consistently demonstrate safe work behaviors and actively support company safety goals
* Support all TPM initiatives and actively participate in all TPM processes and activities
* Routinely communicate with employees to ensure compliance with established safety, quality and productivity policies and procedures
* Work to achieve Zero” accidents by taking a leadership role in safety
* Investigate and identify root causes of accidents, quality holds or environmental non-compliance utilizing the TPM process in order to prevent recurrence of similar incidents
* Plan, direct and manage production activities of a production shift
* Ensure activities are coordinated with support departments by communicating relevant information to appropriate parties
* Supervise hourly employees to ensure compliance with company policy and work rules, GMPs and safety requirements
* Evaluate employee performance and conduct performance reviews
* Counsel and discipline employees as necessary
* Diagnose deviations in the function of production systems

 

Key Requirements:

*Proven hands-on experience in a food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.

*Demonstrated hands-on experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, six sigma and/or Kaizen initiatives.

*Proven success with Continuous Improvement initiatives and positive culture change

*Proven leader, problem solver, with the ability to drive change

*Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills

*Experience supervising a large unionized production group preferred.

*Creative thinker & problem solver

*Proficient computer skills and SAP is an asset
