A high-growth manufacturer of In Vitro Diagnostic tests is expanding their commercial organization and looking for a Group Manager to join their Global marketing team. Our client is an innovative, profitable IVD company that has delivered double-digit revenue growth each of the past four years. They are investing in new diagnostic segments, including significant increases in R&D spending and an expansion of the sales force. They have an exciting work environment where their teams have unusually strong personal chemistry. Responsibilities:

The Group Marketing Manager will lead the global strategy for a franchise of diagnostic tests used in the hematology and cell biology markets. You will develop long-term marketing plans for automated systems and desktop analyzers used in reference labs and hospitals, and duties will include upstream product road-mapping as well as downstream promotional planning and execution. The Group Manager will be responsible for Voice of Customer, defining target product profiles, market segmentation, product positioning, branding, pricing, and sales training, among other duties. You will work with regional marketing counterparts around the world to adapt the global strategies for their own market needs.

This is a broadly defined, global marketing assignment where you will “wear many hats.” Success will be measured by sales and margin expectations, sales force competency, and market image. You will work closely with cross-functional team members from other organizations in advance of product launches, so we need someone proficient at operating within a matrix management structure. The Group Manager will also interface with consultants, market research firms, ad agencies and other vendors. The high-profile nature of the role means you will be presenting to senior management on a routine basis and there are significant opportunities for career advancement and development.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with the following qualities needed for success in this role:
• 10+ years of total work experience in the Biotech or In Vitro Diagnostics industry
• 5+ years of inhouse marketing experience specifically in the IVD business
• Proficiency working within a cross-functional team structure, along with some experience in a global or international marketing assignment
• Bachelor’s degree or better; MBA or equivalent preferred

The compensation plan includes an industry leading base salary plus incentive-plan bonus program, restricted stock units, and an expanded benefits package.

The position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area; financial assistance for relocation is provided.
