Job Description

Blue & Co., LLC is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our growing HR team!

As a Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability and 401(k) plan.  Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients including Directors, employees, vendors, and business partners.

Position Details
• Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in HRIS and online benefits enrollment system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
• Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
• Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
• Assist with annual benefits renewal and conduct annual open enrollment process.
• Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests, disability paperwork and workers compensation claims.
• Coordinate daily benefits processing to include new hire enrollments, COBRA administration, terminations, beneficiary changes, disability, accident and death claims. 
• Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leave of absences / disabilities.
• Maintain knowledge of changing Federal and State regulations and legislation that may affect employee benefits.
• Serve as a primary contact for plan vendors and third-part administrators.
• Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. 
• Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. 
• Plan and conduct new employee orientation; completes and/or processes all new hire paperwork within HR; updates HRIS as needed. 

Job Requirements
• Associate’s degree in HR or related field and a minimum of two years experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential a plus.
• Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems; Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and online enrollment systems.
• Solid understanding of different benefit plans (retirement, health & dental insurance, disability, etc.) and relevant regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Travel to various company offices on a periodic basis is required.
