Job Description

Blue & Co., LLC is seeking an Audit and Assurance Quality Control Manager to support our growing regional CPA firm.  As AAQC Manager, you will work side-by-side with our Quality Control staff to add leverage to our existing QC functions.  This is a high profile position working closely with the firm’s leaders and key assurance staff members.  Now is a great time to join Blue as we have consistently achieved a strong history of growth as a result of our sophisticated service and expertise.


The ideal candidate is someone coming directly from an auditing role in a public accounting firm with strong technical expertise.  The position can be based out of any current Blue & Co. office.

Position Details:
• Assistance with Engagement Quality Review (EQR) process including conducting a large number of EQR’s annually.
• Evaluate and seek to improve the ongoing risk management procedures for the firm.
• Provide leverage to existing QC function and facilitate more interaction between QC and the firm’s assurance teams across our 13 regional offices.
• Participate in the firm’s internal inspection process including conducting engagement reviews and administrative functions as part of this process. 
• Monitor and evaluate new standards as issued and coordinate at least monthly updates for both internal and external utilization.
• Contribute to the firm’s AAQC Committee to manage the strategic direction and function of the firm’s A & A practice. Participate in task groups responsible for evaluating the consistency of approach and procedures among various industries and functional areas within the firm.
• Evaluate the products and services that impact the firm’s A&A practice.

 
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting with over five years’ experience in auditing within a public accounting firm. 
• Current CPA Certification
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and assurance standards
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Technically savvy with experience in MS Office and working within a paperless accounting environment.
• Must be comfortable working in a team environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to travel to our offices, up to 5% of time, mostly daytrips; minimal overnight travel. 
• Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds, sit for long periods of time and the use of a desktop computer.
