As a Staff Accountant at Blue & Co., you will have the chance to experience a wide variety of industries while observing the "big picture" view and intricate details of accounting. You will assist our experienced staff and managers in conducting field work for a variety of engagements. • Perform and complete field work to include the preparation of work papers.
• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
• Assist in the completion of detailed reports on audit findings.
• Inspect client documentation and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures.
• Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommend controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
• Provide assistance with low-risk areas of audits, compilations, reviews and other accounting services.
• Prepare, examine and analyze financial statements, accounting records, supporting schedules and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness and conformance to firm and industry standards.
• Assist with the wrap-up tasks of an audit as needed; finalize work papers, draft audit letters, etc.
• Assist with other client services as outlined in the firm’s engagement letters and proposals.

• Strong academic performance (minimum GPA 3.2).
• Future CPA Candidate and Accounting, finance or related major; 150 credit hour requirement with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. 
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills; history of extra-curricular or volunteer activities, preferably in a leadership role.
• Success in working independently and as part of a team.
• Available to work evening/weekends and travel as necessary during peak seasons (travel paid for by firm). Travel for this role is estimated to be around 20%.
• Exhibit strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to ask questions to gain strong comprehension of complex subjects.
• A desire to contribute to a collaborative effort and share in its success.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
