 “Communications Planner”

Empower’s Communications Planners ensure leading edge strategic thinking and cross-channel integration are applied to clients’ media marketing plans. They collaborate and partner with clients, Empower’s media/channel specialist teams and agency partners to develop innovative communication strategies that meet clients’ marketing goals. A Communications Planner will leverage their deep understanding on how to marry the strengths of traditional, digital, social and content to integrate strong communications plans.


Detailed Description

·         Writes high level communications strategy to connect with the right consumer audience

·         Gathers and analyzes client input to inform plans:  sales seasonality & trends, sales to media rations, target insights, media industry landscape, client challenges, marketing inputs, etc.

·         Works with Empower’s Decision Sciences team to identify &  prioritize target audiences & geographies

·         Prepares campaign planning briefs and Media Objectives & Strategies

·         Integrates media channels together that tie back to actionable consumer insights

·         Sets and measures overall media delivery of the plan- including communication goals, rolling up impression comparisons, planning options across media, year over year comparison

·         Stays abreast of industry trends, actively participates in Empower Communications Planning team meetings to share learnings & best practices

·         Leads channel optimizations to the plan throughout its life 



·         Strong client facing communicator, experience presenting to clients

·         Organized, able to multi-task and prioritize across a team

·         Highly numbers oriented with attention to detail

·         Confident and assertive



·         Media Plan Mixing & Optimizing Tools:  Telmar, IMS

·         Has worked with Nielsen, Arbitron, ComScore, SRDS



·         Bachelor’s Degree

·         Minimum 5 years experience constructing multi-media campaigns

·         Digital media experience desired

·         Hispanic or Ethnic planning a plus

·         Excellent Excel and PPT skills
