The Human Resource department serves as a link between management and employees. The HR manager’s role is to foster positive relationships, to increase job satisfaction, and to assure that employees’ needs are met. In summary this role manages and aligns company Human Resources needs to support business goals and plans by focusing on issues of employee relations, performance management, training & development, recruitment & retention, payroll & benefits, and legal compliance. This individual is also a liaison for HR issues between the plant, the division, Materials Handling Group, and corporate.
Key Responsibilities: Perform or oversee the HR functions of the Sandusky plant. These functions include recruitment, training, legal compliance, oversee payroll administration, workers compensation and safety.
Create and implement policies and programs for staffing, employee development, employee relations, legal compliance, safety, performance management, engagement, compensation and benefits.
Ensure proper application of and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Anticipate and assess legal exposure, such as harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, unfair treatment and workers compensation.
Plan, develop and implement staffing, orientation, training, and termination processes to ensure that the plant has the appropriate talent to meet its objectives.
Develop and implement sourcing, recruiting, and interviewing techniques to meet the needs of the business in a cost effective and timely manner.
Provide guidance and direction to managers on HR policies and practices.
Oversee the administration of weekly payroll processing, benefits enrollment and the management of temporary agency relationship.
