It’s Your Future – Grad Career Program
Tracing our roots to 1668, The North West Company is a leading retailer of food and everyday products and services to rural communities and urban neighborhoods in Canada, Alaska, the South Pacific and the Caribbean.
This 18-24 month full time paid rotation program is designed to balance your interests and the needs of the business. During each rotation you will be actively involved in projects at our head office in Winnipeg, as well as have the opportunity to travel to two of our Northern stores. Once the program is completed, you will be placed in a position based on your area of study, your performance and the needs of the business.
EXAMPLE PROGRAM ROTATION:
Rotation One: Procurement & Marketing
While in Procurement & Marketing you will be working alongside people in various roles and be actively involved in projects. You will see first-hand the variety of products that we carry and how it is determined which products are carried in our stores.
Rotation Two: Northern Community Stores
(Travel, 2 terms, 3 months total)
This is a key component to the program as it will provide you with the foundational elements of our organization. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and be a part of experiencing life in our rural communities. You will be accountable for learning the key functions and tasks that it takes to run an effective and profitable store. These two rotations may be split up during your program.
Rotation Three: Supply Chain
Here you will learn how our products are transported through to their final destination, our stores. You will gain experience of order processing, warehousing and transportation. Working alongside colleagues and being a part of work assignments you will see how we transport our products to our remote communities while meeting the demands of our diverse and evolving customer base.
Rotation Four: Final Rotation
Individual assignments will be based on your professional interests, along with the current workloads and business requirements. In order to compliment the store and central merchandising experience gained, a choice of opportunities will include: Human Resources, Finance, Marking Services, Information Services, and Real Estate.
To participate in this inspiring opportunity, please refer to the following eligibility requirements:
