MD Physician Neurology Jobs
 

The neurology staff physician is responsible for providing primary, secondary, and tertiary care in both hospitalized and outpatient settings, identifying patients’ health problems and designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet these needs.  He/she is responsible for coordinating activities of other health service personnel, resolving problems affecting patient care and providing appropriate education for the patient and/or family members regarding the patient’s care, patient’s illness and its management.  The neurology staff physician is responsible for teaching house staff, medical students and other health professionals during clinics, ward rounds, and in conferences and providing supervisory control and professional direction for specialized diagnostic units in their field of expertise, e.g., neurological conditions, EMG studies, etc.  A major percentage of the physician’s time will be devoted to patient care.  Depending on other activities, sufficient time will be allotted for teaching, research, and administrative duties. 

Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. citizen; must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology; Must have a Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine; current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the U.S. or District of Columbia; must be proficient in spoken and written English. 

Education: 

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.   Approved schools are: schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted, schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted, schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure. 

Completion of an ACGME-approved Residency in Neurology.  ABME-approved Board-certification strongly preferred.  ACLS current certification required (wi

English language proficiency is required.
