COMMUNITY: This Community has 200,000 residents/418,000 in metropolitan area. A river runs through the city with spectacular falls on the west end of downtown. Enjoy 260 days of sunshine per year. The region is a gateway to the great outdoors with 76 lakes, 33 golf courses, 11 wineries, 5 ski resorts, and 5 major national parks. The Columbia River Gorge and Grand Coulee Dam are within an easy drive of the city. Runners, walkers, and bicyclers enjoy a 67 mile long paved trail that connects the community to Idaho. The nearby mountains offer a haven for powder hounds in the winter and hikers and bikers in the summer. This region has incredible outdoor and indoor activities including arts, outdoors and delectable dining.

COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER/POSITION: Be apart of a dynamic, progressive community health care center where your skills and knowledge will give opportunity for individuals to receive quality health care. This health center seeks a Physician to improve the overall health of the community and to expand the availability of health care by providing primary medical services in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations of the Board of Directors and administration. The Physician will treat a mixed patient population, across gender, age and ethnicity, as well as insured and un-insured patients.

 

Duties include

·         Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures;

·         Analyze reports and findings and diagnose conditions;

·         Prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment;

·         Report births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities;

 

REQUIREMENTS: Certification through the Drug Enforcement Agency and valid licensure in Washington is required. Please be CPR / ACLS certified. Completion of an accredited medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy program is required. The successful candidate must be board certification or board-eligible in the appropriate specialty (family practice with obstetrics/gynecology). The physician must be able to secure credentialing through identified agencies (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.). Previous experience working with underserved populations is highly desired.
