113 bed acute care community hospital located in Eastern Mass on the Connecticut border, Level III Trauma Center. The Emergency Care Center provides approximately 24,000 patient visits per year. They have a part-time or full-time opportunity for a BCBE ER, or BCBE IM with a minimum of five years of ER experience, to join our well established team of 7 physicians, 1 PA and over 40 nurses. All staff have special training in basic life support, ACLS and the majority with PALS. Shifts are 12 hours, and there is overlapping coverage from Noon to 10:00 PM (M-F) and 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM on w/es and holidays. Additonal backup, if required, is available from the Hospital's Medical Staff. The unit is well equipped and supported, and the Hospital has a new in-house 1.5 MRI and 40 CT units, which are both located adjacent to the ECC. Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians from BIDMC provide the on site and off site (specialists) radiology professional services. Telemedicine stroke consults are available via Mass General. An excellent relationship exists with Worcester and Boston facilities for any needed specialists and/or transfers. Conversion to a new IT system, with ER EMR from MedHost is in the works and expected to be operational within a year. |
