This update has two new features of
note. The first is a integral database of ZIP/CITY/ STATE information.
If you are on a name or company, and enter a zip or city, when you
tab to the next field you will get a possible value filled in automatically.
(i.e if you enter a city and tab, the zip will fill itself in)You
can use drop down buttons on these fields to get more items if you
need them.
This feature should help keep a cleaner DB and speed data entry. The
downside is that it is going to be easier to place the wrong Zip in
the DB if the user accepts the first suggestion without verifying
that it is correct for the Address they are working with. Work with
this feature to see how it behaves; we have used it successfully in
other applications so we expect it to be a benefit.
The other new feature is a sticky notes screen. You can find it under
"action" on the main menu.
This should be very useful for sharing phone messages and to do items
among your teams. You can access another user's sticky notes via the
user name dropdown box. The security for this shares the "share
schedule" security item on a user record. If your schedule is
shared, people can access your sticky notes. If it is not, they cannot.
A new note is pink, a "done" note turns light blue. You
can cut and paste whatever you want into a sticky note; it's a great
auxiliary clipboard and instant mail device for your team. If you
select "tile" or "cascade" from the sticky note
menu, it will display them in your preferred mode. A big advantage
of using these sticky notes will be that they are saved within the
PCR database. That way, they are backed up and accessible from any
PCR computer.
After you close PCR, the sticky note screen remains open if you had
it open during your PCR session. This should be a great way to make
"pink slips" for phone calls and the like; we are looking
forward to your feedback on how to power this item up in the future.
Perhaps during this season of light you might give yourself a nice
backup as a gift ! It may keep on giving some day!
