NEW FEATURES/CHANGES
FOR 718
DECODE.DLL DETECTION
When you first start PCRecruiter now, it will give you a message
letting you know to contact tech support if DECODE.DLL is missing.
This file is now required for PCRecruiter's operation.
CANCEL BUTTON ON LOGON SCREEN WHEN CHANGING
DATABASE
By popular demand, there is now a Cancel button on the logon screen
when changing databases. If you hit Cancel, it will kick you right
back into PCRecruiter with nothing changed. The only exception to
this is if you attempt to logon to a new database with the wrong
password, then press Cancel. This will completely exit the program.
The reason for this is because if you try to log into a new database,
you've just lost your last database logon state, so therefore PCR
can't return you back to where you were.
NEW FEATURES/CHANGES FOR 719
ROLLUP ATTACHMENTS CHANGE/ADDITION
If you go to Action->Rollup Lists, select a rollup list, then
choose Edit->Attachments->Rollup Lists, it would not display
the RTF attachments correctly. This is now changed. Also, we have
added the ability to use links and HTML documents as well as RTF
for rollup lists. That makes rollup list attachments consistent
with candidate and company attachments.
NEW RESUME FORMATTING IN ADDR
The ADDR has been reworked to match what we are working on in the
Thin Client. You can now import single file resumes as well as bulk
resumes. The preferred method of conversion is now into HTML. By doing
this, the resumes will retain 95% to 100% of their formatting as opposed
to the lesser RTF counterpart that has been a thorn for many customers.
NEW FEATURES/CHANGES FOR 720
RECURRING SCHEDULE ADDITION
Previously, you could set an item on your schedule to recur every
day, week, month, or year x number of times. Now there is an addition
where you can have a schedule recur every x number of days y number
of times. For example, we can set up a scheduled item to recur every
90 days twice, which will schedule one at 90 days, and one at 180
days.
REMOVED SYSTEM->IMPORT/EXPORT->IMPORT RESUMES WITH PROFILES
This button is now identical to the ADDR from the NAMES tab. However,
the import resumes with profiles was causing the background indexer
to lock up. So this button is now gone. Use ADDR under the NAME
tab for identical results.
ADDR COMPANY CLIPBOARD PASTE CHANGE
When you go to the ADDR from the COMPANY tab, PCRecruiter will now
paste the clipboard in to pull the name/address/phone, etc... Under
NAME, it does not paste what is on the clipboard because resumes
will hold their formatting better if you use "IMPORT RESUME"
from a single file as opposed to trying to cut and paste it.
ICON/WORDS RESIZING BUG
If you log off one user and log on another user and one has full
screen, and one doesn't, it was resizing the icons funny. This is
changed.
BLANK PASSWORD BUG
Changed it so that if you have a blank password, it will not accept
anything. Previously, it would allow anything as a password.
CANDIDATES NOTES MODIFICATION
The NOTES form is now modal, meaning that you cannot do anything
else until you close them. People were losing notes because they
would not save them and switch to another candidate’s notes
without realizing that they had unsaved notes.
SQL DUPLICATE RECORD BUG CHANGE
Code has been added under SQL to keep duplicate ID's from being
created during imports, and on rare occasions, when adding new records.
NEW FEATURES/CHANGES FOR 723
ADDR MODIFICATIONS
The ADDR is back (by popular demand) to automatically pasting the
clipboard when you first open it up . However, there is now a note
that states you will get better results if you use the "Open
Resume" button as opposed to cutting and pasting. Now, when
you "Open Resume" and pull in a Word .doc file, the Set
Word Document will automatically occur.
RESUME WORD DOCUMENT MODIFICATIONS
There have been some major alterations to the entry of resumes.
In order to help preserve formatting when bringing resumes into
PCRecruiter, there are now three different formats in use. If you
are adding resumes in the usual copy/paste method, the addr screen
will automatically pull the copied information in as it used to
do. PCRecruiter will convert the pasted information into RTF format,
and as before, some formatting may be lost. However, there is a
new checkbox on the User Preferences screen which will make the
default format for resumes HTML. This is the same language that
web pages are made in, and can preserve most of the desired formatting.
In addition, there is a new button on the Addr screen called "Open
Resume." This is the preferred method of placing a resume into
the database. When you click the "Open Resume" button,
you can browse to the Word .doc file of your choice. PCRecruiter
imports the resume, extracts the information, attaches the original
Word doc to the resume screen of the record (the small "W"
icon) and indexes the resume all at once. Finally, you'll notice
that when the "Use Header" box is checked, a second box
- "Convert to Word" appears. With this box checked, an
HTML resume will be turned into a Word document with the header
attached to the top when sent to print/fax, as opposed to remaining
in HTML format and opening in your web browser.
CANDIDATE IMPORT COSMETIC CHANGE
Under SYSTEM->IMPORT/EXPORT->IMPORT NAMES it will now mark
imported resumes to have the little file cabinet drawer graphic
appear "open", where it used to not do that.
DUPLICATE CANDIDATE RECORDS UNDER ADDR
If you import a name that is a duplicate with the ADDR, a window
appears showing the other duplicate names in the database. The functionality
has been changed under the where if you click on one of the names,
it should jump to that record instead of adding the duplicate to
the database.
BACK-UPS
Just do them !! Remember, cutting and pasting the Access file to
another hard drive is a great first line of defense. With SQL, be
certain you have a .BAK file with the right dates and size. You
can see your filenames and sizes under help/about.
