Position Summary: Contributes to the Risk Management (RM) plan by identifying, analyzing, reducing risk for the company and its insureds. The Risk Manager participates in the development and implementation of the RM program in assigned territory to individual and large group and healthcare facility insureds.
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Risk Management Manager
Essential Functions/Responsibilities: =623; Interacts courteously and professionally with all company employees, policyholders, and outside vendors; seeks to support company’s mission and vision in daily operations =623; Contributes to the development of the department’s strategic and operating planning and meets assigned target dates and budget goals; helps ensure that department quality, service, and productivity standards are met =623; Conducts review and analysis of medical malpractice claims for insureds in assigned territory =623; Conducts assessment for assigned individual and group medical practices and healthcare facilities ; provides insureds with loss prevention and loss control interventions that are consistent with RM principles. =623; Provide RM consultation to assigned physician practices including large physician groups and healthcare facilities =623; Conducts telephone consultation with individual, group medical practices and healthcare facilities, =623; Develops and presents live and on line RM education seminars for physician practices including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing staff and medical office staff. =623; Conducts loss analysis for assigned territory based on internal and external data/information =623; Evaluates territory loss and make comparisons to the book of business and draw conclusions for developing and implementing loss prevention and loss control interventions =623; Reports to the assigned Committees regarding insureds risk profile =623; Serves as RM expert to insureds.

Education, Experience and Skills: Required: =623; Bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing =623; Current License in nursing =623; 3-5 years experience in the Risk Management or quality improvement or other healthcare related field =623; 4-6 years experience in nursing =623; Formal presentation skills to small and large audiences =623; Experience dealing with physicians and/or other healthcare professionals =623; Experience with data analysis =623; Strong customer focus and team orientation =623; Ability to appropriately handle confidential or sensitive company information =623; Commitment to continuing industry and individual functional education =623; Strong decision making skills =623; Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and work effectively with employees at all levels within the organization =623; Ability to manage time, set priorities, and work independently; ability to organize, analyze, and interpret information =623; Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Programs.
