Job Description

JAVA Software Engineer – Memphis, TN

Memphis Company is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Technology team. The Software Engineer will work with a cross-functional team on new website capabilities for the elevator industry, which will improve user and administrator functionality. Software Engineer candidates must be experienced in coding languages, Java development, databases, software lifecycles, and cloud principles. We are continuously looking for positive, energetic, passionate people to join our team.


  • Design, develop, test and implement new software applications
  • Apply modern principles, methodologies, tools, and systemic processes to support new business capabilities
  • Use modern software engineering IDEs, such as Eclipse, for design, development, and testing
  • Collaborate with members of other departments on project needs, capabilities, and requirements
  • Develop and implement software testing and verifying procedures
  • Determine project requirements for new software
  • Troubleshoot and/or modify existing software to improve performance and functionality
  • Development work will be 65% back-end development and 35% front-end development
  • Assist with the management of information technology, computer systems, and security programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 2+ year’s recent/relevant experience in JAVA software engineering, full-stack development or related field
  • Experience with coding languages HTML5, JavaScript and CSS
  • Experience using frameworks such as jQuery, Bootstrap, Spring and Hibernate
  • Must be familiar with Git, GitHub, Eclipse, Apache Maven, and JUnit.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office and Windows OS
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Great interpersonal skills – Displays honesty, ethics and integrity at all times
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills including a positive attitude
  • Must have prompt and regular attendance, a sense of urgency, self-motivation and discipline, the ability to develop a rapport, and be a team player
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week
