MidWest/West Coast Field Sales Engineer(s)-Laser/Photonics

RA’s client is an established global laser and photonics developer and manufacturer with a strong North American and Global presence is potentially looking for 2 Field Sales Engineers

JOB SUMMARY:

The Mid-West Field Sales Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate of our laser/photonics business within their assigned region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Presenting our market leading scientific laser portfolio to potential customers
  • Managing relationships between customers and Marketing/Engineering team during the sales process
  • Leveraging technical application knowledge and RA’s client’s laser product expertise to identify new customers and markets for RA’s client’s Lasers
  • Supporting existing customers; working closely with service & customer support and marketing to ensure post-sales customer satisfaction
  • Developing new sales through prospecting, lead follow up, and sales calls
  • Gathering market and competitive price data to assist in pricing analysis and strategy for assigned territory
  • Maintaining accurate customer database records and consistent timely reports

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors in a technical discipline; physical sciences, Engineering or Lasers/Electro-Optics (advanced degree preferred)

Minimum 5-7 years of related experience

Demonstrated ability to communicate with professors, post-docs, PhD students and other technical staff members

Proven ability to interact with customers in a way that gains their confidence and respect

Excellent communication skills, technical aptitude, and problem solving skills


ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Proven experience selling scientific equipment (especially lasers), securing orders that range from $50k to $500k

Successful track record of sustainable sales growth and new account development

Ability to travel up to 50% of time
