Rudzinsky Associate’s client is an industry leader in photonic and imaging based instruments and products. Our client is looking for a Boston, or Northeast based individual operating independently from a home office. The Northeast Sales Manager, working under the direction of the Director of Sales - Americas, will be responsible for the active development and management of sales in the Northeast region. The Sales Mgr will manage the territory spanning NY State east to and including New England to provide scientific imaging and spectroscopy based solutions to customers.

The region is home to many leading research and industrial organizations. The Sales Mgr will work with technology professionals to sell Rudzinsky Associate’s client’s scientific imaging and spectroscopy based equipment and technology solutions. The Sales Mgr will have a background in engineering, physical or life sciences and demonstrated ability to articulate the value of highly technical products based on customer requirements/applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong business sense while being technically and professionally agile enough to handle a broad based and extensive product line. The successful candidate is excited about multi-faceted, cutting edge research, has past exposure to the end users in appropriate customer organizations and enjoys demonstrating equipment to researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales within assigned territory.
  • Devise and execute their own pro-active business development plans to grow business in the region.
  • Manage opportunities pipeline and quote log to meet and exceed assigned regional quota.
  • Attend trade shows and technical conferences.
  • Effectively demonstrate products to potential customers and provide training and installation as required.
  • Use company CRM database to better manage the region.
  • Forecast and prepare sales reports as required.

Job Requirements

  • Self motivated, strong work ethic with ability to work remotely from a home office.
  • Experience in optical capital equipment sales or photonics sales with a desire for individuals having experience in spectroscopy and imaging techniques and technology.
  • Experience or desire to travel up to 50% of the time within the region.
  • BS or technical degree in physical science, life science or engineering. Advanced degree a plus.
  • 5 years of customer focused sales experience strongly desired.
