Are you a self-motivated, confident, and passionate Research & Development Engineer who understands and has experience with high speed digital laser printer Technology and has a passion for Electro-Optic System Technology Innovation?

In this role you’ll… leading the innovation culture, efforts and team of RA’s client high speed digital laser printers products. Along with the Chief Engineer in charge of integration, you will develop the technology modules required to get best-in-class laser printers.

You’ll have an opportunity to… contribute to an organization committed to and focused on developing innovative products using stage-gate process.

You should possess… minimum 10 years’ R&D leadership experience with a concentration in Electro-Optic System Technology with preference of integrating UV/VIS/IR lasers, galvo heads, sensors, custom drivers, software and firmware into innovative high speed digital laser printers.

Main Activities / Responsibilities:

  • Theoretical design/analysis and practical construction of UV/VIS/IR laser systems into innovative high speed digital laser imaging devices and printers.
  • Knowledge of CAD and Geometric Optical Design Tools, simulation tools, DFM and Reliability methodologies.
  • Lead Independent Research and Development (IRaD) projects
  • Drive collaborations with external vendors, industry and academic partners to mature laser technology.
  • Assess technical risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Promote Intellectual Property deliverables within your team.
  • Provide competitive analysis and seek out new innovation.
  • Complete sound, rigorous, and thorough evaluations of new technologies.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • PhD/Master’s Degree in Physics or Optical / Electrical Engineering .
  • 10-15 years’ experience in Electro-Optic Laser system design and development.
  • Experience with semiconductor lasers, fiber lasers, solid state lasers is preferred.

The Site

RA’s client – Technology Ctr is an exciting expansion demonstrating our client’s commitment to be the innovation leader in digital marking, identification, printing, coding. This new, state-of-the-art, Global Design Center will be the hub for New Product Introduction of Laser- and DOD-based products. The office is situated close to Boston with easy access by car or public transportation.
