Extensive Product Portfolio. Broad strategic role.

A global market leading medical device company is developing disruptive technology in the interventional cardiology market and is expanding its marketing team. Our client is projecting strong revenue growth over the next few years, driven by the commercialization of several first-in-class products for the cath lab. We are filling a newly created role that will lead foundational efforts to create a portfolio-focus marketing approach across a multi-million dollar North American business with 300+ sales reps.

This newly created, unique position offers routine exposure to senior management as you set marketing strategies, shape direction and create messaging for an entire product portfolio. If you are looking for a broad, high-visibility marketing assignment in a dynamic, fast-paced organization then this could be the opportunity for you.

The Opportunity:

The Group Marketing Manager will assess current/future markets, create and articulate value propositions for the portfolio and deliver messaging to the field sales force. The impetus for this newly created role is to shift marketing focus to a portfolio approach instead of one driven by individual products. A good understanding of clinical data is important as you look through complex patient data and develop value propositions. You will also conceptualize and create compelling deliverables to the sales force.

You will build a small team as you understand the resources of the business and the marketing team need for this new approach. Duties will include strategic positioning, branding, messaging, forecasting and pricing, as well as close work with sales and managers to support their customers in the field.

You will translate healthcare trends and competitive information into actionable plans and create a strategy to maintain contact with customers beyond advisory board participation. You will serve as the commercial leader on cross-functional teams with colleagues from product development, sales, finance, regulatory, operations and medical affairs. You’ll routinely present to the senior leadership team as you make and defend recommendations. This company offers a strong focus on data-driven marketing, an award-winning culture and strong career development opportunities.

Overnight travel is estimated at 25%.

The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
• 9+ years of med device industry experience
• Strong analytical and strategic marketing experience
• Close work with a well-trained sales team, previous sales experience is a plus
• A Bachelor’s Degree or better is required; an MBA or equivalent is strongly preferred

The industry-leading compensation plan includes base salary plus incentive-plan bonus, restricted stock units and an expanded benefits package.

This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area. Financial assistance is available for relocation support.

This is an entrepreneurial opportunity with a dynamic company that prides itself on the unique, differentiated qualities of its product offerings. If you are a motivated, self-starter who would like to help this organization grow, and if your background and qualifications meet these specifications, please respond by e-mail.
