Strategic challenge. Positive corporate culture.
A high-growth Medical Device company is expanding its commercial team and needs a Global Director to lead Market Access, Reimbursement and Pricing Strategies for their on-market and pipeline products. This highly profitable organization has operations in over 100 countries and is adding new technology in the fields of cardiology and diabetes. They exceeded revenue expectations by 20% last year and are projected to do the same this year, so they are adding select positions in their commercial organization. If you’re looking for an opportunity to help build something that will last – to apply your analytical skills to a business model with a huge upside potential – then we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Market Access will build and supervise a team of access professionals responsible for mapping the payer environment for their breakthrough technology and developing a global strategy to optimize reimbursement and patient access for their devices. This is a global role and will have responsibility for the EU, Asia, LATAM markets in addition to the US. You will lead indication / label expansions for new products and new markets by creating a payer value proposition for single payer systems and public option markets. The price grid is set so the Director will ensure that new products fall into the appropriate price ranges.

The Director will also guide internal development teams to generate clinical evidence to support reimbursement and market adoption. You will provide market intelligence and input into the design of HEOR studies to ensure alignment with business needs. You will also have significant exposure to clinical development teams and will help shape clinical trial endpoints, so a deep understanding of evidence generation and health economics is critical. The devices themselves generate a significant amount of clinical outcomes data and that is used in publications and marketing programs, and the Director will use those results to optimize market access.

Qualifications:
• 7+ year of market access and reimbursement planning experience in the Medical Device, Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry
• 2+ years of experience supervising market access and reimbursement personnel
• Broad knowledge of private payer and government reimbursement in the US and OUS markets and understanding of global healthcare policy
• Bachelor’s degree or better is required; Master’s in Business, Public Health or Health Policy is preferred

An attractive compensation package for this position includes a competitive base salary, annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and restricted stock units.

This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay); financial assistance for relocation support is provided.
