A small, high-growth Genomics company that develops unique companion diagnostic and biomarker identification tests for the Life Science research market is expanding their commercial team and adding a Director of Autoimmunity. Their unique RNA-based technology is extraction free and offers faster and more accurate results than alternative assays. This is the “next phase” of Next Gen Sequencing and gives drug development teams the ability to pair diagnostic tests with personalized treatments for a broad range of illnesses, including autoimmune diseases. This is a high-profile assignment in a well-capitalized, publicly traded organization working on the leading edge of genomics research. The Role:

Reporting to the Vice President of Pharmaceutical Partnerships, the Director will implement the product strategy for the autoimmune testing franchise and will serve as the subject matter expert in the support of sales and business development deals. Their panels of over 2100 genes identify RNA biomarkers for diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus and Scleroderma. You will provide technical support for biomarker discovery teams in biotech and pharmaceutical companies across the U.S., working with drug companies that have active autoimmune research and development programs. You will also support the sales team in lead identification, competitive monitoring, and closing deals. In addition to biomarker discovery, the Director will also call on clinical development teams to support their development of companion diagnostic tests for autoimmune therapies.

This unique technology platform provides researchers with the advantage of more molecular profiling with less samples required than competitive tests. At the technical expert in Autoimmunity you will monitor trends in drug discovery and development, and create working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in rheumatology and immunology. You will be the public face of the company in the autoimmune segment, and occasionally present at AI medical conferences and symposia. In addition to providing field-based sales support you will also represent the voice of the customer to communicate new product needs internally with product development teams. This is a broadly defined job in a high-growth organization with signification opportunity for career advancement; overnight travel is estimated at 60%.


• 5+ years of sales or technical support experience in the Biotech industry working with technology used by drug companies with autoimmune research and development programs
• A BS degree or better in the Life Sciences with evidence of technical expertise in the fields of autoimmune disease, immunology or inflammation; and advanced degree is preferred
• Strong analytical and presentation skills, as well as the interest in working for a small, fast-paced organization

This position can be based in any U.S. city on the east coast with easy access to a major airport.
