A small, high-growth Biopharmaceutical company in the Seattle area is expanding its commercial team to support the launch of their first product in early 2020. This dynamic organization discovers and develops new biopharmaceutical entities for critical, unmet medical needs and is now looking for a consumer-focused marketing professional to lead the launch in the patient channel. With a robust pipeline and a market cap of roughly $1B this post start-up is poised for exponential growth over the next five years. The Opportunity:
The Director of Patient Marketing will hire and lead a small Product Management team responsible for developing the U.S. go-to-market strategy in the consumer channel. The Direct-to-Consumer strategy is focused on market development, patient awareness and educational programs for this first-in-class product. You will be responsible for the commercial assessment of new patient initiatives and evaluation of marketing program effectiveness. Further, you will evaluate the ROI of promotional efforts and provide recommendations to optimize sales and marketing investments. You will represent patient marketing with cross-functional colleagues from other departments, including HCP Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, Medical Affairs and Legal, plus external partner leadership with agencies and patient advocacy organizations.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Director will develop and supervise brand initiatives for the patient channel, including digital, social media, print, TV, patient education and public relations programs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you and your team will develop and implement the consumer and patient-level marketing strategies including multi-channel strategy and plan implementation, messaging strategy, consumer segmentation, and media planning and execution. This is a long-term strategic planning and tactical role that will have a direct impact on the success of this high-growth organization as well as the well-being of patients. The successful candidate will have:
• 10+ years of commercial experience in the Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry
• 5+ years of patient/consumer marketing experience, including proven experience with multi-channel marketing strategy and implementation. Those with strong pharmaceutical agency experience are encouraged to apply.
• Direct supervisory experience of other marketing professionals
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred
• A strong interest in working for small, fast-paced organization
