Job Title: -- Mechanical Construction Estimator
Job Summary: -- The Estimator position is responsible for all phases of the estimating and bidding process including preconstruction services and performing estimate takeoffs. Thorough knowledge of the mechanical construction bidding processes is required. Specific expertise with Mechanical systems serving power plants, Cogeneration facilities, manufacturing facilities, clean rooms, and process systems for Pharmaceutical and microelectronics facilities is a major plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -- Duties include quantity takeoff, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing, spreadsheet input and proposal preparation. Estimates will be prepared using Quote Express estimating software. Experience with Quote Express or Quickpen software is desired. Duties could also include on site and/or In-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects providing mechanical engineering and design assistance. They will also interface with our construction project teams and our CAD detailing staff. In addition, candidate will be tasked with managing the developing project mechanical designs to budget and must have knowledge regarding safety, worker's compensation, insurance and bonding, materials as it pertains to bidding requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

Computer Skills: - - Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, Lotus Notes, Quote Express windows-based piping and sheet metal estimating systems.
Required Attributes: - - *Possess excellent written & verbal communications skills / *Maintain a professional manner in actions and appearance when representing UMEC / *Prioritize in a fast paced multi-task environment / *Demonstrate ability to perform basic business mathematical functions. / *Work with minimal supervision / *Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form / *Have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data. / *Comply with all operation policies, procedures, plans, and programs.
