The Conversion Process

If you've been using ACT!, Goldmine, Excel, DOS or any of the thousands of other available data applications, you probably will want to convert your valuable data to leverage and enhance it with PCRecruiter.

Our data conversion service is exceptional, as we have the expertise to convert practically anything - from simple text jobs all the way up to complex relational SQL databases.

If you use research data or obtain data from sources that help your organization succeed, we can often transform that information into a PCRecruiter database for faster and more effective use.


How Will I Know If My Conversion Contains Everything I Need?

Throughout the conversion process, you will be able to remotely preview and validate the migration of your data. If you find something that needs alteration, we can adjust the conversion to accomodate the changes that you request. We highly recommend performing the following two procedures, which will greatly assist you during the data preview:

• First, make a list of the most valuable elements of your data and make notes regarding them during the data preview. If you don't know what these elements are, poll people in your organization and appoint the knowledgeable individuals to review the data. This may seem simple, but it sometimes does not happen.
• Secondly, complete a training session with one of our trainers so that you are familiar with how PCRecruiter handles data. This will give you better insight and help to select the most effective destinations for your converted data within PCRecruiter. People gain familiarity with PCRecruiter quickly, and this process often helps them to see the data in a new light.

What Will This Cost Me?

Every data conversion contains elements unique to its context. Because each one is customized in some fashion, we quote prices on a case-by-case basis, reviewing a sample of your data and discussing your needs with you. Prices are based on how much time and resources we expect the conversion to require.

Data conversions can cost between roughly $125 for a simple job to $20,000 for a very involved one. For example, if you have 10,000 records including basic text data with uniquely named and matched MS Word resumes, you may spend $250 to $1500. However, if you have a one million record relational database, multiple object attachments and short critical path timing, you can expect to be higher up the scale.


My Data Is My Business. What Precautions Are Taken To Make Sure It Is Safe?

Conversions are governed by a Conversion Agreement that describes confidentiality requirements for the process and includes, among other safeguards, language clearly stating that Main Sequence Technologies has no rights whatsoever to the information involved. The physical media contaning your data are in a fire-protected facility with 24 hour security monitoring. Approximately one year after your conversion, or upon request, your original data copies will be destroyed by Main Sequence Technologies. Often, there is no physical media involved and all electronic data transfers are handled by encrypted communications unless there are explicit instructions from a client indicating otherwise.
