Previously only available to our in-house development team, PCRecruiter’s API enabled us to build our integration with Microsoft Outlook, our PCR Capture plugin, and the PCRM interface. Now it’s your turn! The API is available at no added cost to all PCRecruiter accounts. Developers can get started with the documentation at https://www.pcrecruiter.net/apidocs_v2/

Our REST API gives qualified developers secure, programmatic access to the core data that powers your recruiting operation — names, companies, jobs, placements, activities, and the connections between them. Whether you’re a staffing firm with a proprietary workflow or an enterprise HR team with specialized reporting needs, the API lets you build the exact solution your operation requires.

What developers can build with the PCRecruiter API:

  • Custom job integrations — Pull live openings directly from your PCRecruiter database into custom-built job boards, niche posting systems, or aggregators
  • Data import/export tools — Automate the movement of candidate and client records between PCRecruiter and other platforms, eliminating duplicate data entry.
  • Custom reporting and dashboards — Surface the KPIs that matter most to your team by querying your PCRecruiter data directly.
  • Workflow automation — Trigger actions in PCRecruiter based on events in other systems, or push PCRecruiter updates outward to the tools your team already uses.
  • Third-party integrations — Connect PCRecruiter to background check providers, assessment platforms, phone systems, payroll tools, and more.

Introducing the PCRecruiter MCP

PCRecruiter also offers a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for use with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and other MCP-ready AI tools.

If the API is about connecting software to PCRecruiter, the MCP is about connecting AI to PCRecruiter’s API. MCP is an open standard that acts as a universal adapter between AI assistants and the external systems they need to act on. With PCRecruiter’s MCP, an AI assistant can read from and write to your database in real time, guided by natural language instructions rather than hand-coded workflows.

Unlike traditional automation tools that require you to pre-define every rule and trigger, an MCP-connected AI can handle context-dependent tasks that don’t follow a fixed script. It adapts to your instructions in the moment, making it especially powerful for the nuanced, judgment-heavy work that recruiting demands.

The PCRecruiter MCP is currently in limited beta. We will be providing more information, use cases, instructions, and tools when it has been fully tested.

Get Started with the PCRecruiter API

PCR offers a highly capable open API for development and an MCP server for AI connectivity.

Your admin account needs to sign up at
https://main-sequence.3scale.net.

Choose free or enterprise versions and the type of sandbox required (see below).

Await approval and the activation email from PCRecruiter.

We create the database and sandbox, then send you set up instructions.

Log into the 3Scale site to retrieve the API keys and developer information.

After development and testing are complete, request ‘go live’ via 3Scale.

API Contract & Sandbox Versions

The pricing of the API is based on the number of ‘calls’ per day made to the API. A ‘call’ is any connection to the API to send or receive data (passing the login credentials to connect to the system, retrieving a list of job titles, retrieving a single job or name record, uploading a resume, submitting a group of fields, retrieving a dropdown of available cities, etc.) The type of API contract can be changed at any time.

Free Version

  • Up to 5000 API calls/day
  • This is useful for testing and development.
  • In a production environment, 5000 daily calls may be exhausted.

50$/ month

Enterprise Version

  • Up to 50,000 calls/day.
  • This is useful for testing, development, and production environments.
