Recruiting Software Helps Students Find Work

Recruiting software solutions are making it easier for students at one Michigan university to find jobs. Go to http://pcrecruiter.net/site to learn more about recruiting software.

The Central Michigan University Student Employment Services office works with about 5,500 students every year, helping them find employment on and off campus. Fortunately for students, almost all CMU departments hire students for a variety of job assignments during the year.

According to an article by The Morning Sun, students can apply for those positions simply by checking postings in the Student Employment Services office and contacting the department to fill out a job application or by filling out an online application on the department’s Web site.

Students can connect with local employers through a traditional recruiting software setup. Students register and obtain a user ID and password, which provides access to the recruiting software programs. Local employers then contact the Student Employment Services office to post job openings on the Web site, which is updated on a regular basis.

The Central Michigan University Career Services office further offers help to students through on and off campus internships and other targeted programs.

“Internships in various campus departments and offices may help students land jobs right here at CMU,” Brian Partie, assistant director of career services, said in the article. “Plus, there are many internship options in the private and public sector for students – we provide information on those career pathways, and assist in helping students secure employment in that way.”

For instance, the Career Services office debuted the Capital City Internship Program during the spring semester. The program offers job and networking experiences in government settings in Lansing for up to 50 students.

“The program included a mentoring component which was valuable for the students, and ‘brown bag lunches’ that offered opportunities to build networks with professionals,” Partie added in the article. “A number of students secured internships for the coming semester, and some graduates last spring stepped into full-time employment with the offices where they were interning.”

The office also offers a “Careers in …” series, which gives students a chance to network and obtain information on potential career opportunities. The program includes a series of events designed for specific career paths.
